Tom is involved with sourcing and development of new projects, third-party leasing, tenant representation and leads a division providing third-party services (lease administration, new store growth and disposition of owned properties) for more than 150-unit QSR franchises.
Prior to joining Southeast Retail Group, he was Vice President at Redstone, and a Managing Director/Retail Services at Colliers International in Tampa. Tom's focus on tenant and landlord representation made him an integral part of several high profile retail developments; including The Grove at Wesley Chapel and The Shoppes of Southbay, among others. Tom’s tenant representation and completed transaction list include Wal-Mart, Publix, Sweetbay, Bealls, Lifestyle Family Fitness, Darden Restaurants, Ruby Tuesday, TGI Fridays, Five Guys, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and many others. He has also provided management and leasing service for many institutional owners on the landlord side. Several years into his career at Colliers, Tom spend 18 months in Palm Beach as a partner with Golf Augusta, acquiring golf shops through Florida and Georgia. Simultaneously he served as a Director of RE for Crafts & Stuff for multi-store expansion throughout Florida. Upon completion of the expansion, Tom returned to Tampa to continue with Colliers.
Tom started his career in Atlanta with Field & Johnston focusing on the management and redevelopment of apartment communities throughout Georgia. While in Atlanta, Tom worked in several phases of real estate including residential lending, office management and leasing with Balcor before ultimately focusing on the retail sector. Tom joined Noro, a private Dutch fund headquartered in Atlanta, primarily targeting retail properties throughout the southeast. Noro eventually merged with New Market Management & Development where Tom was charged with leading the leasing and management for the Noro portfolio for many years prior to being recruited to assist with opening the 1st Regency Realty office in Atlanta. As every Florida native understands you can’t stay away forever so Tom moved to Tampa to join USAA Realty in 1995.
Tom lives in St. Petersburg with his wife, Carol, and daughter, Maggie. Tom has been active with several community organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa, Golf Coach at St. Paul’s Catholic School, and serves on the Board of Directors for The Gift of Adoption and The First Tee of St Petersburg. He is an avid golfer and enjoys hunting and fishing.
