Jim Tiehen is a commercial real estate professional and the founder of The Tiehen Group, Inc. Jim has more than 40 years of experience in the real estate profession and one of only a few people to hold both the Certified Property Manager (CPM) and Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designations.  

As Founder & CEO of The Tiehen Group, Inc., Jim is responsible for overseeing the execution of the company’s strategic plan while advising on all operational aspects of the company to assist investors and stakeholders in the acquisition, renovation, and management of residential and commercial real estate. Jim has been responsible for successfully negotiating more than $150 million in real estate transactions. 

A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Jim graduated with honors from Rockhurst University with a degree in Business. After two years working as Associate Alumni Director at Rockhurst University, he started his real estate career as a salesman with W.R. Hartman Company where, after only three years, he became a partner and half-owner of the company, which was then renamed Hartman/Tiehen Realtors, Inc. The company was noted for its expertise in the management, renovation and sales of multi-family and office buildings in the Plaza/Westport area. The operation expanded in 1985 to include development of multi-family housing.
