Al Stitt joins the SVN Commercial Specialists team in the Winchester, Virginia Office. Al has a wealth of knowledge to share with his Clients and customers. His work in Management and Performance Improvement along with his extensive knowledge of cost recovery programs for commercial property owners provide him with many tools to help him assist clients in finding the right real estate options to meet their financial goals.
Al attended Penn State University, where he received his Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. He then enlisted in the U.S, Navy where he applied this knowledge as an Electronics Technician onboard the Fleet Ballistic Submarine, USS Casimir Pulaski. Later in his nine (9) year military commitment, he rotated to shore duty in Virginia Beach, as an instructor to train junior personnel. During this duty assignment he continued his higher education goals, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Education, and later, went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Training and Performance Improvement from Capella University.
After separating from the Navy, Al specialized in Performance Analysis / Improvement with a focus toward improving the operational capabilities and financial picture of various organizations. Clients included; U. S. Navy, U. S. Air Force, Federal Aviation Association (FAA), Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Department of State, and Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
As a Resident Engineer, Al supervised the renovation of various buildings to allow for installation of new systems with enhanced capabilities. He became proficient at generating proposals, coordinating all aspects of the building renovation process, and monitoring / controlling budget.
Prior to coming onboard with SVN Commercial Specialists, Al continued to develop an in-depth knowledge of commercial properties from working for Core Solutions Group. He has extensive experience with various specialty engineering programs aimed at businesses, real estate / commercial property owners / developers, and manufacturing / industrial facilities. These specialty studies include: Cost Segregation, Abandonment / Disposition Studies, R&D Credits, Section 179D Studies, New Property Regulations, WOTC, IC-DISC, and Green Building Services and make it possible for property owners to increase Net Operating Income, reduce Net Operating Expenses, improve the Capitalization Rate, and, thus, increase overall asset value.
In addition to helping clients buy/sell/lease property according to their investment objectives, Al can also assist owners in maximizing the tax benefits they realize on their holdings.
